The Woman Behind it all...

I'm talking about non other than Lizzy Bleu! I've gotten tons of mail asking me about "Lizzy" and the Gorgeous Jewelry she creates! Well, today, I'm lucky enough to have her here to tell us a little bit about herself, how she got into her craft, and what she loves.

So let's make her feel welcome, ask any questions you may have, and I'm sure she'd LOVE to answer them!

Without further ado, here's a little bit about my very good friend, Lizzy Bleu!

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Lets see now where do I begin?

I suppose I could start at about age six when everyone was out playing and having fun as I spent my time alone in my room "CREATING" (Lizzy laughs out loud and continues to smile...that's ONE thing about LIZZY that you can't ignore. Her smile. It lights up the room and instantly makes you feel welcome). She then goes on to admit: "I honestly cant remember many days of my entire life that if I wasn't crafting or painting , I was certainly thinking about it".

There's NO Question that Lizzy has talent. But what brought her to where she is today? Did she take classes? I had to know... Her answer:

I'm a self taught artist. This includes painting on canvas ( Or anything else that is handy) as well as jewelry design.

I could only WISH to be even a quarter as talented!

When it comes to things she loves and if it effects what she designs, what's the answer? Well, this is what Lizzy had to say!

I love antiques and that began the jewelry design. I would browse antique shops and all the wonderful old colors and patina that I would find in those shops just made me crazy!!! I absolutely adore flaky peeling paint, worn and faded colors. Those things talk to me and say "Take me home" !!!! (That happens to ME at the mall) I remember finding an old tape measure from the 1930's and thought, "Oh... I love this old mustard color so much!" and I knew at that exact moment that it would have a new life as a watch band. It sounds crazy but from that moment on I began making jewelry out of vintage and antique found objects.

Do you have a favorite piece?

Although I have used hundreds of found objects for my jewelry the tape measure watch band is probably my favorite.

When asked what makes her designing all worth-while.

I have been featured in several magazines however the ultimate compliment is when I can make someone smile because the piece I made for them meant something to them. It's all about memories and warming someones heart. Its about making people feel special.I put my heart ,sole and my love into each piece of jewelry I make. The found objects are little treasures that I hope will be passed down for generations through families and loved for many years to come.

Lizzy, if you could do something other than your craft, what would it be?

If I could do one thing other than crafting or making jewelry? Wow! Great question! I would have to say that II would spend a year in Paris digging through their goodies! Hmmmm ... I wonder why ? (Again she laughs and covers her hand with her mouth as she continues to smile!)

Thank you SO much Lizzy for being here and PLEASE come back again!
