Author Bio:

Sue-Ellen Welfonder is a card-carrying Scotophile whose burning wish to make frequent (free) trips to the land of her dreams led her to a twenty year career with the airlines. Bi-lingual, she flew international all those years, working her flights as foreign language speaker. Her flying career allowed her to see the world, but it was always to Scotland that she returned.

Now a full-time writer, she’s quick to admit that she much prefers wielding a pen to pushing tea and coffee. She spent fifteen years living in Europe and used that time to explore as many castle ruins, medieval abbeys, and stone circles as possible. Anything ancient, crumbling, or lichened caught her eye. She makes annual visits to Scotland, insisting they are a necessity as each trip gives her inspiration for new books.

Proud of her own Hebridean ancestry, she belongs to two clan societies: the MacFie Clan Society and the Clan MacAlpine Society. In addition to Scotland, her greatest passions are medieval history, the paranormal, and dogs. My Thoughts:

I've always been a big fan of James Patterson. The first novel that I read was "1st to Die", which happens to be the first book in the Women's Murder Club Mystery series. Needless to say, I was hooked. Fast paced page-turning action, interesting plots, and characters with depth were all culprits. Every series he starts is always neatly tied in with a bow at the end. All ends meet and nothing is left undone. At least, those are my thoughts.

Please remember that a review is the opinion of ONE person. Wether that person is me or someone else, I think it should only be used as a tool. You and you alone will only be able to tell if a book is right for you. If you've ever been called to jury duty, watched a trial, or are involved in this process due to the nature of your occupation, you know that each juror listens to the facts and then decides - 'Guilty' or 'Innocent'. (at least in this country) Alex Cross' Trial by James Patterson doesn't miss the mark, doesn't disappoint and kept me turning those pages. And while there is a difference in judging wether a book is right for me or deciding a verdict, one thing remains the same. The decision and thoughts are mine. You may have a difference in feelings or opinions and I can accept that.

The above theme is evident in "Alex Cross' Trial" as is heartache, horror and the disbelief that we as human beings could honestly treat each other in such a disgusting manner. We are all equal and all innocent until proven guilty but who should make the final decision?

This book is the 15th in the Alex Cross Series. But, I want you to know that after reading the 14 previous books, I can honestly say that this one could easily stand alone. It's not really about 'Alex Cross' and it doesn't necessarily go in succession. It's not written ABOUT Alex, but BY him. I found this to make it an extremely interesting read.

If you are a lover of all things James Patterson or have never read a Patterson novel before, I highly recommend 'Alex Cross' Trial' and would even go so far to suggest this be your first read. I only reason I brought up the fact that a review is the opinion of ONE person is that I find that Patterson books are either ranked very high or very low. I think in general, many either love him or leave him and sometimes, thus he's fairly misjudged. If you have yet to give Patterson a try, there's no time like the present!
