I just wanted to make a post as a little explaination, reminder and to let you know about some of the wonderful things planned for Park-Avenue Princess!  As most of you know, I was "away" for a little while due to an ongoing  personal illness and I am trying to get  Park-Avenue Princess right back to where it was so winners are being notified by email and starting with the LIZZY BLEU GIVEAWAY, which is right below this post, I will start posting winners on the blog again.  I just need to catch up! 

Speaking of the LIZZY BLEU GIVEAWAY, you still have plenty of time to enter! It's open to everyone, no matter where you live (no P.O. I have so many plans in the works for Park-Avenue Princess and I'm hoping to get the changes done quickly but I can't find someone that knows exactly what I'd like.  I hope you'll stay with me and PLEASE visit often. Books, Blabber & Being Me

It seems like forever since I've posted! I feel like I have a lifetime of things to catch up on and share with you and in part, it's true. I know... I know.. it's taking me a while to post lately and I do apologize! Will you forgive me if I say I have a really important reason AND it's true?

I miss my site, reviews, books, products and most of all, I miss all of you (my blogging friends). I can't Thank you for all of you that have taken the time to check up on me, write to me, send cards and letters, etc. I appreciate it more than you know! 

I have quite a few changes that I need to make for a while. For those of you that do not know, I am in the hospital, I will be still running my contests and guest posts.  I'd like to get the site back to where it was.  I have quite a few authors that will be here with guest posts and giveaways, along with companies and their product giveaways.

I may, for the time being, need you to just pay attention to when winners are listed. I am going to *TRY* to still email each winner, but in the last post of "And the Winners Are", The Duchess kindly asked that to make it easier on me, if your name was listed, you email me at PrincessPrizes@Yahoo.com with your full name and address (to claim your prizes) MANY of you did not.  Sadly, some of them were really large prizes! 

I don't want to have to create a form of some sort where you put in your name, address and what you've done in the extras.  But, if I have to, I will. I can't keep drawing and redrawing winner's names.  I want the very first winner, the one that's worked hard, just as hard as the second winner chosen, to get their prize. OK?

Guest Post with E. Lockhart and Giveaway!

I culdn't be more excited to be part of E. Lockhart's tour!  And being the last stop, I will show you ALL of the new covers to the Ruby Oliver books, which were shown one at a time throughout the week on the other stops! I was reading Jennifer Jabaley's Park Avenue Princess post about Lipstick Apology and she talks about asking herself: what's the worst thing that could happen?

I ask myself that, too, when I'm writing -- and especially when I was writing The Boyfriend List, the first in my "Ruby Oliver" series that goes on with The Boy Book and The Treasure Map of Boys -- and next year, Real Live Boyfriends.

In The Boyfriend List, 15 year-old Ruby Oliver has it pretty good. She goes to a Seattle Prep school, has a great best friend (Kim) and a group of other friends -- plus her first real boyfriend, Jackson.

What's the worst thing that could happen?
Jackson dumps her.

No, what's REALLY the worst thing that could happen?
Jackson dumps her for Kim.
Ruby loses her boyfriend and her best friend all at once.

Then what's the worst thing that could happen?
She wants to get him back, and she kisses him when Kim is out of town. She gets caught.
Then what's the worst thing that could happen?
The person who catches her -- tells. Everyone.
Then what's the worst thing that could happen?
Ruby's remaining friends side with Kim and dump her.

Then what's the worst thing that could happen?
She begins to have panic attacks.
Then what's the worst thing that could happen?
Her parents send her to a shrink. She doesn't want to talk to the shrink, and is so silent, in fact, that the therapist tries giving her a homework assignment: write a list of every boy you've ever liked, loved, gazed at, crushed on, held hands with. All the way back to Kindergarten. So Ruby does the homework. Makes the list.
Then what's the worst thing that could happen?
She throws her rough draft of the list in the trash -- at school.

Then what's the worst thing that could happen?
Someone finds it.
Then what's the worst thing that could happen?
Someone xeroxes it.

Then what's the worst thing that could happen?
The names of the boys? ordinary names like Mike, Steve, Scott, John? Look like names of boys at school. And it looks like a list of boys that Ruby has BEEN WITH. Now Ruby has no boyfriend, no friends, and a seriously sucky reputation.

The story of her triumph over this catastrophe takes four books. With footnotes!
It has been very, very fun to put Ruby through all this horror.

The All I Want For Christmas Countdown!

Winner Worries!

Before I announce today's winner's, I feel that it's necessary for me to point out a few Giveaway Rules that are not being followed and believe it or not, it's caused more than five people to lose their prizes today. One was the Lizzy Bleu $50.00 Giveaway and I was forced to pick a new name! I really dislike doing this. First of all, it's hard enough to pick a winner without having to take it away.  I know what you're  thinking ... "Princess St." MUST be a ONE WAY! Not so! I have been accepting entries without saying a word for a long time now and I really don't think that I ask too much.  I also know you have questions and I'm going to answer them!  If what I write up in this post doesn't answer your question, or it is not clear, please feel free to comment below and I'll answer you ASAP!

Why did these individuals lose their prize? Good question and I do have the answers for you.  It all came about with the "Giveaway to Sell You Soul For.." which is being sponsored by the Very Generous Matthew Carter, author of "Liquid Soul"!  I started actually checking *If people were doing what they said they were doing in the entries and to my shock, some are not! Please only put what you are actually doing, otherwise, it will result in a prize forfeit.  Matthew actually brougt this to my attention while keeping track of points for the reader.  See, I was just assuming that everyone was being honest.  Not the case.  I DO understand that mistakes happen and that some of you (Blogger Followers) thought that you were following Publically and through Google Friend Connect.  This is the ONLY step that I require to win prizes here, and it's not that hard to click the button.

Why do I need you to follow? Here's something you may not know. Companies and even some small publishers will not work with you unless you have a certain number of followers or daily visits.  So, if you'd like me to keep having these giveaways (especially the big ones) , and I have a few biggies coming up for the Christmas season, then I ask you to PLEASE follow!  Visiting, Commenting and Having an Opinion are all big factors as well.  Back to other reasons why prizes were not able to be given - NO EMAIL, how am I going to contact you? I even went to some of the links and still no email. So, from now on, if you don't feel comfortable leaving your email address below, I want you to comment and then copy that comment and send it to me so that at least I have your email address.  I'm also working on having some sort of sheet that you can fill out.  But again, I need a simple email address. Other things that happened today....One person's number came up and in that post it said "I have your button on my blog!"  I go to check, not there! This person followed and had an email address!  I'm going to assume that they meant to put it on the blog AFTER they wrote it and then forgot.

Basically...

First and foremost, I'd like to apologize for my lack of blogging lately... or should I say my absence?  I've been going through a tough time with my health again and I'm going to try to make up for me not being here this week.  I've got SO many things coming up!  Really...  You'll be amazed.  But, I really wanted to take a minute just to say "Thank You" to all of you that have emailed, sent a mail through the contact button, called and tweeted just to say "Hello", wondering how I am doing, and wishing me well.  I can't tell you just how touched I am.  The book blogging community is filled with SO many truly wonderful, caring and sweet people ... really, I am over-whelmed with the out pouring of support and kindess.  If there were only more people in the world like all of you.  I have really amazing readers!  So, I'll stop being sappy and teary-eyed now, say a HUGE "Thank You" and  go on with what's coming up! OK?

Up next is the LONG Awaited Contest for the Kindle or Sony e-reader! I looked in dismay at the hole in the plate and decided to test all of her other “kid” polishes on the foam. Within minutes, ALL of the solvent-based polishes began to bubble and eventually left big holes in the plate. From that day on, I decided that any flammable substance that could eat through foam was unacceptable for my children’s fingernails, which would inevitably end up in their mouths.

My quest was on, and Piggy Paint™ was born. As you may have guessed, our polish is NOT flammable and sits beautifully on the unaffected foam. FAQ's About PIGGY PAINT!

Is there anything toxic in the nail polish?
No. There are no toxic chemicals. The resins are polyacrylic and polyurethane latexes with residual monomers well below 100 parts per million. The only co-solvent is a diglycol ether. All colorants are FDA-certified for cosmetic use.

What should be done to prepare nails before putting on the polish?
Simply, clean nails with Piggy Paint Nail Polish Remover or soap and water. Healthy nails naturally produce a mixture of oils and proteins, which serve to protect, beautify and enhance their appearance. Normal nail polishes remove these substances from the nails, requiring the user to prepare their nails with other products. However, since Piggy Paint Nail Polish is a waterborne polish, it does not remove the oils so your nails remain strong and healthy.

How long will it take for my nails to dry?
Piggy Paint dries to a tack-free state nearly as fast as regular polish, though it takes longer to reach its ultimate hardness. We recommend using multiple thin coats since they will dry faster than one thick coat. If your hands are cold, the temperature is cool, or there is high humidity in the area, it may take longer for the coats to dry. For maximum chip resistance, use the following application instructions:

Wash hands with soap and water.
Apply 2 -3 thin coats of Piggy Paint™.
Air dry 60 seconds.
Blow dry polished nails for 1 minute with hair dryer set on warm heat/low blower setting. For safety purposes, please follow manufacturer’s instructions on blow dryer and always monitor your child.

*Opinions Wanted* and *Other Ramblings*

I've been a little confused lately and it has to do with many things. So, I'm going to turn to you, my readers for your opinions. After all, it's your opinions that matter (to me anyway). I'm thankful that you choose to read Park-Avenue Princess and without all of you... Well, I'd just be talking to myself...and to be quite honest, I do A LOT of that already. So, no need to really add to the dysfunction! (That's a post for another time...)

OK let me start of by saying that I am AMAZED that I have 300 followers! Again, I just noticed today and I have to give all of you a HUGE THANK YOU! Ironically, I also hit 300 Twitter Followers today SO that HUGE Giveaway I told you about is going to be a CELEBRATION of this! (But there's a little work involved in it too... I'll get to that in a minute). Seriously, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. This blog is MY VOICE to all of you and it's means of escape, friendship and fun for me. Colossal Changes Here At The Castle

So, you're about to see A Lot more of ME! I've made a vow to try to renovate my entire blog! I know it's a lot of work, but I've been meaning to do it since I got sick and was in the hospital. Big Changes, Big Things...I need to try something different ... hence, the "Colossal Changes Here At The Castle"!

For both of us, these means MANY good things! More of what WE love! More Reviews, Guest Spots, Tours, Author Questions and Answers, Giveaways (In a BIG WAY), Contests and MUCH MUCH More!

***I need some help on ONE THING*** I know some of you are AWESOME at making buttons or helping with getting pictures for my ratings! I am NOT one of those people!

J. Kaye helped me with my "Crown/Tiara" rating picture. (AKA our ROYAL RATINGS, which I LOVE) and J. Kaye, being the person that she is volunteered to do it. She asked me what I wanted and I told her what that would be and Ta-Dahhh! She made it! But now, I need something different, I need halves and I would like the tiaras separate...maybe in a little box or something. Of course One (and a half) to Five! If you can do this for you, I would be will to compensate you in either money or a gift card. We'll talk about that! I may need a button too! But, the ratings is IMPORTANT ...
